Sunscreen for your kiddos

Here are a few tips on using sunscreen.....................
The old theory is a shot full for the whole body...if you are in a bathing suit, that may not be enough as per Dermatologist Cheryl Karcher.

SPF is not everything...the number gauges how well a sunscreen fends off UVB light, but not UVB rays. Scan the label for BROAD SPECTRUM and more than one of the following ingredient...Avobenzone, Mexoryl, Titanium Dioxide or Zinc Oxide.

Sunscreen weakens when exposed to heat and light.  Store it in a cool place, not your trunk of the car.  Get formulas with stabilizing ingredients such as Helioplex or Dermaplex

You may need sunscreen indoors...if your windows are not treated, your home or office won't be protected from damaging rays. as per Dermotologist Francesca Fusco.

The average white T shirt provides an SPF of 10 or less....got you thinking!

Remember with it being summer, our children are around a lot of water.  Make sure if you  have a pool that you have a pool fence, also make sure that you have an alarm on your door, and a flap lock up high on the door.  Even if you live in an apartment, place a flap lock on the entry/exit door to prevent little ones from escaping and getting where they should not be. Please protect the little guys that don't know any better!

A new start

This blog will be a very informative, educational, and interactive blog. I want you to learn and become informed of things in and around Houston that pertain to you and your family. I will intoduce you to people, place and things. I promise you that my brother was able to grow up without me twisting his cheeks off, but that is what happens when you bring home a new sibling and your first one is still young. I actually had my second son when my first was only 1 year old...I didn't think any of us would survive!


Well, we did all make it...and now I am available to help you with your pregnancy, to educate you and take the stress off you. I can do lots more these days other choke your cheeks. I can teach you baby safety, CPR, explain about going green, help you with a birth plan, design your bay's room, help you baby proof your home, your pool.......help you plan your shower (I won't just pour water over you, promise!)............I can do so much more! My team is ready to help educated and prepapre you.

Tip of the day: if you dry clean your clothes, leave them outside for awhile so the toxic fumes can be neutralized by the air.
